The company is working on a new file-sharing tool Called Fast Share and it looks to be the Android Beam replacement.
Fast Share on Android will be used to share images and other files on your phone — as well as URLs and snippets of text without the need of internet.
The service will support sending and receiving files to and from other Android devices with Google Play Services installed. Whether Fast Share will require a specific Android OS version is still uncertain.
