Rooting is a process that allows you to get full root access to the Android operating system code (in Apple world its called jailbreaking).
using these privileges you are able to modify the software code on the device or install software that the manufacturer wouldn’t normally allow you to.

John Wu, a Magisk developer announced that he achieved the first working full root on a Pixel 3XL running Android Q Beta 4.

Unlike before, Using Wu rooting solution devices would benefit from seamless system updates going forward. Also, the Pixel 3 and 3a are only the first devices coming with the new logical partitions structure while more devices would probably move to it in the future, so they are going to profit from this new method as well.
